When was the last time you did something for the first time? When you do something for the first time it’s often scary and exciting at the same time. You get a real sense that you are extending your boundaries and sometimes you might even feel a physical reaction to a mind shift.
I was recently reminded of this idea not long ago at a seminar day called KPI day, or key person of influence. What I find almost unbelievable is that for the most part, people aren’t doing anything new in their lives, and they live their lives in a “just being” kind of state.
I’m reminded by nature about the concepts of decay and growth, and when you look at a tree, no matter how slow it may seem to be growing, it is always changing inside, constantly striving forward towards the sun. If it isn’t growing, it’s decaying. A tree doesn’t have a state of constant.
So why is it that so many people in society are looking for stability or a constant, when what that really means is they are in a state of decay.
After all, if you aren’t growing, you are decaying. Today’s message is quite simple, get moving, start doing something positive and get on with your life and pursue those dreams that you’ve always wanted to, but been afraid to.
Think to yourself, when was the last time you actually did something for the first time?
